The Temple Water Pot Lady

Am hugely proud of my grandson who came 10th overall in the Battle of London CrossFit competition which involved qualifying in the top 150 from Europe just to enter. It was his first major competition so well done Ben.

Had a good night – the cows don't make a sound as they are very contented with their calves beside them. One old one is hugely pregnant and not feeling very comfortable though. Went out to visit the Jagdish Temple – the most important one and not very far from the Palace entrance which is now closed for the wedding of the Maharaja's son. I got into trouble with a palace guard for leaping over a rope to take a photo of the huge gateway entrance that is now heavily garlanded. I'm wondering whether there will be a procession through the City with him on an elephant – it certainly won't be a lowly white mare! Spent the remainder of the day in an antique saree shop/emporium going through hundreds of amazing sarees – many were so heavy with metal embroidery they would have been quite tough going to wear. Such gorgeous colours and the imagination and tenacity of the girls who embroidered them beggars belief. Nothing is done like that nowadays. Got a few of my portrait photos printed off just to see them in a different format – colour wasn't as good as I'd hoped – am wondering if I am making them too light and am being misled and given false impression on this laptop. more stuff here
