Hole, sweet hole!

Such a lovely colour scheme of bright green to blue tail feathers*. But such a precocious bird.

Apparently they don't take up the holes that other birds such as Woodpeckers and Nuthatches like, but there are so many of them now in the SW, I am not so sure.

They love the trees all along the river and the din can be quite painful.

*not so blue on this one!
