At Brockhampton: Mist laden fields.....x

I heavy frost laden mist hung over the fields this morning. A travelling mist that floats above the ground, not slipping away down hill but lifting away off the ground.

Perpective changes. A variated view of silhouetted contrasts. One tree against the next. Everything much more linear than before. Somehow, landscapes look much more interesting in this light.

This field over Brockhampton is sympathetically laid out, not just by design but with a careful for placement of English Countryside. I was thinking of photographer Fay Godwin, when I took this picture. She understood the curve of the ground, the placement of a tree, the slope of a dry stone wall. She knew how to photograph the balance that nature had already played out, and she captured just that. See a link to her work here : FAY
