Look out there's a Buzzard !

At last I've managed to capture the buzzard that often flies over the house. I think it roosts in one of the large Scots Pines by the field and is easier to spot when it's the Winter as it comes down to the softened ground to feed on worms.
It is now common throughout the Uk and the most widespread.
They can often be seen perched on posts or soaring through the air with their wings widespread. It's usually the cry that you hear first and in the Spring they perform fantastic aerial displays.
The buzzard is much smaller than a Golden Eagle but is often called the tourist eagle as it has fooled people who spot one.
There seems to be a healthy population on the Black Isle living along side the Red Kites, peregrine falcons and Osprey. It is also possible that White Tailed Eagles have arrived too :)
I've heard the Tawny owls talking to each other on the last few evenings. Have never been able to spot on roosting during the day but I have nt given up hope.

A lovely morning turning to a clouder and showery afternoon with touches of sleet !
