no good news about my Labby Max...

Since christmas my Labrador Max is walking with a limp - we are "used" to this due to some problems he had since he was a puppy - he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at the age of 7 months- so when we then visited the vet he told us that the only help he can get is a new hip - we have to wait until Max is one year old. Okay but due to his problems we had to do this surgery earlier as he couldn't walk properly so his first surgery was in March 2011 - the vet told us that his other hip has to be renewed as well as the same problem - and oh even we could see it on the x-ray - nevertheless we asked another vet and he came to the same result. In September 2011 Max had his second surgery and sadly this surgery didmt went well as had problems after 3 months again and couldn't walk - back to the vet and he told us that there was a problem with a bone - again a surgery and this time everything went well - Max was (and is still ) a brave dog - never moaned or "complained" - he is just a friendly and happy dog... always wagging his tale and jumping around - you almost can see a grin on his face very often.. So we had two years of joy and fun and no pain (for the first time in his life) but around christmas he walked with a limp again. Yesterday I went to the vet and he did an x-ray and the result is: hip implant broken!!!! the vet was speechless as never had seen something like that and he did those hip surgeries for about 1000 times... He told me that he is going to inform the producer of the "titan hip" - as thinks its a defect in material - but nevertheless that means another (and its the 4th) surgery for Max. Another 6 weeks of no long walks, no funny playing, almost no moving, I have to keep him calm inside which is a problem when you have another Labby running around.... but it has to be done and I am waiting to get information about the day of surgery.... Not in a happy mood right now :(

This are the pills Max has to take for the next days - and the "bone" is a pressie from the vet as he adores Max.... (and Max adores the vet )
