more sloth!

This is the lounge we retreat to and turn on the air conditioning when it gets a tad on the warm side outside. It has been overcast all day and several times we have thought it was going to rain any minute but it hasn't and it would be most unusual if it did. However, it has been humid so the a/c has worked overtime today.

I'm reading a Geoffrey Archer book at the moment, it is part of his Clifton Chronicles, a proposed quintology, this one is the third I think, it is set in post WWII and revolves around a family/dynasty in Bristol, quite bizarre reading about our neck of the woods while lounging around here in gorgeous Goa. Apparently Archer is the best selling author in India and he often publishes his latest novels here first. It is estimated he has sold 330 million books, that is a lot!

The old chap enjoys John Grisham who he finds readable with good content. He's stuck into The Chamber which starts in the 60s with deep south Klu Klux Clan activity and then the American legal system takes over - presumably The Chamber of the title refers to the death chamber. He has taken occasional breaks to practice Sudoku, it was his holiday challenge to get to grips with it, and he has!

Sloth must be banished! To that end we have booked a taxi to take us to Margao tomorrow. We have tracked down our taxi driver from last year, the kind Marcelino, so it won't be like our rushed shopping trip the other day in a non a/c taxi with windows all wide open making you feel like you are being blown by a hot hair dryer and sending the carpet newspapers on the floor fluttering around our ankles. We will be calm , sedate and cool - hopefully!
