No, these are transitionpieces (in front) and liners, waiting to be fitted in the gasturbine of unit EC4.
When built together they are a part of the combustion system together with a part that is missing on this picture the burner itself .
Each gasturbine has 18 burners and they have to be replaced about every 8000 running hours.
The complete set is then being refurbished and can be used again.
We can refurbish three times and then the set wil be scrapped...
They consist of special material and coating that has to whitstand 1280 deg. Centigrade
We stopped the unit a few hours ago and are cooling down during the night, also emptying the drums of the boiler and depressurize the systems for maintenance.
During this night a team of scaffolders is building scaffolds around various systems so the maintenance department can start right away on saturdaymorning as they arrive. (Yes, this is a 24/7 company....)
In one week everything has to be ready and we start up again.
