Smoke illusion

Everyone can see different images in the patterns from a smoking candle. For me, this is like a funnel, or perhaps the bloom of a flower. What can you see?

It's a long time since I tried photographing smoke, and I couldn't work out the best way to do it. I ended up using off camera flash to provide side lighting, with the candle in front of a black backing and with the room lights off. I think I may experiment further on another occasion.
