Drops

This afternoon my town saw its first flakes of snow this winter. I was in the post office and the counter lady suddenly mid-stamp application, looked behind me through the windows and announced slightly breathlessly "It's snowing!" I looked where she was looking and I could see them! Fluffy pearls spiralling down from the clouds! The sense of excitement and meteorological drama was palpable.
A couple of minutes later I had completed my post official mission and stepped outside the building. Not a flake of white stuff to be seen. It had already gone. In two minutes. Pitiful. Personally I think it's just going to keep raining the rest of the winter...
