Onsen and sento

Onsen or hot springs, must be the near the top of Japanese hobbies. As a volcanically active country, Japan has thousands of onsen scattered along its length and breadth. Also popular are public baths and saunas (sento) This particular one holds the Guinness world record for the most nationalities in a single sauna at the same time and has this convenient little foot spa open to the public. Nothing quite like a quick paddle after a days shopping!

Spas are where ‘magic’ happens; this is where time has no place, this is where one’s mind, body and soul receives nurturing, solace and tranquillity; this is where one can experience the wonder of one’s own moment in time.
