Labour of Love

Tonight we ventured out to one of Dubai's wannabe iconic events The Street Night Art Market!!!

It is held in one of the industrial areas of Dubai, behind the Times Square Mall and is the initiative of Ms Urrutia, from Uruguay, who started organising “Street Night Art” a year ago because she wanted to liven up the area and bring the art from inside galleries on to the street.

Although she is not an artist, she said that these events were commonplace in her home country and an integral part of living in a creative community.

Our wee wander through was interesting to say the least, if only to try and understand what 'street art' was!! I'm none the wiser and I'm glad not to be!! There's a whole world out there that is hard to fathom but interestingly...the children who gathered to paint, did some amazing 'real' pictures.........nothing of the obscure, dark side, that the adults were conjuring up.

I did find one man who was creating my idea of 'art' so he got blipped! The other pics I took have been 'foldered' away until the moment comes when I have time to 'sit and stare' long and hard at the creative canvases and try to understand where the artist is coming from!
