Church Door Detail

One of my favourite local places is Whippingham Church built by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert close to their Island home at Osborne Heights. From here there is a very pleasant walk down to the river and the Folly Inn which I blipped a couple of days ago although at the moment it is a wellington boot stroll as it is totally waterlogged.

This is one of the side doors to the church. I love the weathered stone and wood with all the different colours and textures.

Yet more rain and gales forecast for tomorrow to add to the widespread flooding. Hoping all in the Somerset Levels which have been declared a disaster area remain safe and sound.
