Not a Bichon Multipoo

but the colour is right.

This Blip is a promised emergency Blip for Phoebe even if it doesn't look anything like her.

Angie picked it up last week at the recycling center where they had the clever idea of asking people to put unused books aside rather than throw them in the crusher. Others can then take them at no charge. When I saw it, Phoebe sprung to mind. Just in case someone can't guess the title, it's "The Dog Cook Book".

Loads of recipes for hungry dogs but probably the best tip on the very last page, is for an emergency meal on a Sunday. Now all you in uncivilised countries like the UK & USA won't really understand this but all shops are closed in most of Germany and especially Bavaria on a Sunday. There has been a move to loosen this as the petrol stations were doing a roaring trade with bread on Sundays, so now bakers shops are allowed to open for a few hours. We can't mow grass or wash cars on Sunday - it's a day of rest. Can be very frustrating for the first 10 years here but once you have got used to it, it's actually not a bad thing.

Back to the book....emergency dog food on Sunday. The book suggests going to the petrol station and look for:
Tinned fish - in tomato sauce OK but not salted
Bacon
Liver sausage in tins
Bread, rolls, butter biscuits.

Phoebe you can relax knowing Tescos in Maidenhead are open. I feel sorry already though for all German Blip Dogs whose owners are out on the town tonight and forgot to pick up a tin of food on the way.

Have a great Sunday
