A time for everything

My two girls!

This morning the three of us walked in the 5k Bridges Walk for a just community in downtwon Cincinnati. Since Roger had been the coordinator for his group at work, he felt duty bound to walk, and since they hadnt got as much support as they'd have liked, Jen and I felt duty bound to walk too! After a very pleasant week (until yesterday) it was a raw breezy Fall morning by the riverfront. I felt bad for Jen, having just flown in from warm Texas! Once we got walking though, we warmed up, and it was a great walk across the "Purple People bridge" into Newport Ky, around the streets of Newport, and returning to Ohio across another bridge.

After the walk, there was free food, then it was straight up to Miami University in Oxford to see the football game and Laura playing in the marching band. We had to watch Miami suffer its eigth consecutive loss (!), but they did put up a good fight, with the final score being 27-22, with 15 of Miami's points coming in the 4th quarter, and the last 7 in the closing seconds of the game, infact we missed the final touchdown, as we'd already left the stadium, thinking the game was effectively over! I thought Jen deserved a medal sitting through the whole game in the cold - she had her thick winter coat on, one of my woollen hats, her sweatshirt hood, and coat hood up over that, a fleece blanket over our knees, and knowing her, she was probably still cold! After the game we went to Starbucks to get a hot drink to warm up, then went to meet Laura at her dorm. Then Roger and I drove home together, and the two girls came home together in Laura's car.

In the evening we went to this great Italian restaurant. I've been wanting to go for quite a while, but its a bit on the pricey side, so we were waiting for a special occasion. There was so much food, we brought quite a bit of it back home with us! You can just see the tiramisu in the front of the picture! All in all, a great day!
