Sgwarnog: In the Field

Bird, watching

watching
the birds

That time of year again for the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch.

The morning was a washout, literally, but it brightened in the afternoon giving us the opportunity to find the following friends in our garden:

Thirteen House Sparrows
Six Carrion Crows
Six Collared Doves
Five Starlings
Four Black-headed Gulls
Three Great Tits
Two Blackbirds
Two Magpies
Two Blue Tits
One Wood Pigeon
One Greenfinch
One Dunnock
and one little Wren

No Goldfinches, but we've run out of niger seeds. A flock of ten Lapwings flew past on the moor, but unsurprisingly did not alight on our little patch.

Luckily, this Black-headed Gull had been hanging around since Christmas day to make sure it was counted.
