Land for Wildlife

This week the property was formally registered with Moreton Bay Regional Council as part of the Land for Wildlife scheme.

This is a voluntary wildlife conservation project where the Council supplies free advice, 50 trees (to start with) and access to various grants, and I get to create wildlife corridors.

What I particularly like is that detailed information is supplied for my block (2ha) as part of a regional ecosystem analysis, which tells me what used to grow here before the land was cleared, including rare and threatened species that I get to plant.

How cool is that?
