Is this Mother Nature confused or an early herald of Spring?

Found these growing at the back of Church Norton cemetery on Saturday while waiting for the Chichester branch of the RSPB to turn up for our walk. We had been hoping to see a few specific birds during the walk but that was not to be. We did get good views of some Firecrests but too high up in the trees to photograph.
