If you can't beat them...

Home again.

Today we travelled home from Sheffield. We needed to be back mid afternoon for clickychick to keep an appointment. I was slow in getting up so no real photography chances before we left.

By the time I had got home and sorted out the light was beginning to fail. So it was a quick walk round the garden in the rain. A few years ago we had a coniferous tree die suddenly, so when we took it down a tall stump was left. The idea was if we wanted to get the roots out it would give leverage. Then we decided it wasn't worth the effort.

Having a number of variegated ivies spare we decided to plant them and let them run up the tree stump. For the first year they appeared to be slow learners as they did anything but grow upwards. However last year they "took off" so by the end of this year they should just about reach the top.
