Sneeky Peek at Bridget Riley / The Planets

Taken from the steps of Borders, looking into the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow. You can see some of Riley's "Op Art" on display. I rather liked the Starbucks logo reflection in the glass. We did pop in and have a quick look.

In town this evening for the RSNO Naked Classics event - "A Planetary Exploration" at the Royal Concert Hall. Paul Rissman gave a presentation of The Planets by Gustav Holst (1874-1934). Big screen display on the influences behind the Suite, and interviews with the conductor and orchestra members. Rissman let us into the secret about the ladies of the RSNO Chorus, hidden offstage, to perform in the last movement Neptune. They watched the conductor from a camera link below the big screen.

After a chilled glass of white wine, we enjoyed the full performance. A superb evening.
