Banjo moments

Winter is here and I need to dust off my banjo. I love the haunting beauty of clawhammer banjo music. Shakin' Down the Acorns could be my unofficial theme song, I suppose. It's everything a song needs to be for a hardscrabble kid who is all grown up now. Reminiscent of a humble, hardworking upbringing on the family dairy farm. Soulful in a moody, melancholy way. Giving hope in one breath, seeming to take it away in another. Always there, like tomorrow's chores. Cradling me with the reassurance that the sun will rise - all I need to do is open my eyes and get out of bed.
