So that's where she was hiding them!!!

Young Specked Hen, or Barbara as she is now known, has at last started producing. I knew she was close because the comb on her head has become more red. There were 8 small eggs (she is at best described as a bantam!) in a small clutch hidden in the shrubbery. Its fine for now that she has found a spot because it is dry season. However, in a couple of months we will have so much rain that we need to get a waterproof box that she can roost in. Can't really eat the ones we found as they have been in the heat of the day for up to 8 days, so I'm looking forward to starting with the fresh eggs for breakfast !!!
