Sunlight and stone

I enjoyed a very pleasant walk around Coalhouse Fort Park with fellow Photography Geeks Claire, Shelly and Chris. Also a dog who tried to trip me up like an AT-AT.

I live nearly next door to this, but all my days off so far have been plagued with rain (my camera isn't weather-sealed, you know) or overcast and miserable at least. The whole place is also pretty waterlogged right now, which is suboptimal.

I expect I'll be spending a lot more time here when the weather improves.

These stone blocks have very likely been here since the fort's original construction when the main threat was a French invasion. It was obsolete almost immediately after it was completed.
