European Grey Squirrel

I always thought that the squirrels who visited our garden buried their peanuts and then could not find them again. Not true, this little fellow was digging in the grass, finding his peanuts and sitting still to eat them; clearly the squirrel box is currently empty. There were two squirrels in the orchard again this morning; this picture was taken through the kitchen window.

I almost blipped Dougal who accompanied us on our walk around the garden, he is most confused by all the water, where there should be firm ground and grass. He soon retreated indoors to resume his normal daytime sleeping place on the bed. Florence did not bother to accompany us, she went out earlier in the day for all of about five minutes and soon returned to her upstairs bed where she has been ever since.

It was sunny this morning although windy; I even ate my lunch outside. Since then the sun has disappeared and large dark clouds have appeared; it was very cold and windy. Then without any warning the sun appeared again as quickly as it had disappeared.
