Dear Ol' Dads

Lunch at the Angel with my Dad, Ralph, and his Dad (Frank), my ex-father-in-law, as we usually do whenever I come home. This time, however, was the first time without Pat, (Ralph's Mum) who we lost in December (star).   Lunch was a protracted affair - the service was tremendously slow - but the wine and conversation flowed and none of us had anywhere else we needed or wanted to be. Dad and Frank had an animated conversation about WWI in this the centenary year, family histories colliding as we learnt that both had immediate family (Dad's Dad and Frank's Uncle)  who fought against the Turks in Mesopotamia (1914-1918).
