WINTER FUN, ANYONE?

To keep up with the heavy snow today it was necessary to clear it even before it stopped snowing. This good neighbor not only clears his own driveway but also clears the drives of two more neighbors as well as the city sidewalks for five houses. Then, without fail, he can count on the city street plow coming through and blocking the ends of the driveways with a wall of snow from the street, so he has to get out the snow blower all over again. You might think common sense says to just wait until after the plows have been through, but by then the job is twice as difficult because the snow is too deep and way too heavy. This has been one tough winter – not only with more snow than usual, but much colder temperatures – and another storm is predicted for the weekend.

It was fairly miserable today - the wind was swirling and the snow kept piling up. I caught this picture just as he was turning around at the end of the drive, but before he turned the ‘thrower’ around. Wish I knew who invented the snow blower - he definitely is an unsung hero!
