A Peaceful Oasis

I had to venture in to the big city of Leeds again today - this time to bring my MacBook Pro back home. So far, so good - it seems to be working beautifully.
The bill for keyboard and top case replacement wasn't too bad, but I had a new battery installed. £109 for a new battery!!! That is taking the p*** a bit Mr. Apple.
I see you can buy 'non-genuine' on Ebay & Amazon for approx £35 - but it's too late now.
Having said all that - the computer is almost 4 years old, and this is its first replacement battery - so maybe not all that bad :-(

Before I caught the train back home I popped in to the Corn Exchange for a pot of tea and a toasted currant teacake. This little cafe area (seen in the centre of my blip) only sells tea, coffee, soup & toasted currant teacakes. 2pm and they had run out of teacakes ! - but they offered me two slices of toast instead :-(

Leeds Corn Exchange is one of Britain’s finest Victorian buildings and a Grade 1 listed structure. Designed by Cuthbert Brodrick (who also did Leeds Town Hall) it was completed in 1864, It ceased to operate as a Corn Exchange c.1980 and was renovated in 2007 to become the specialist shopping centre it is now.

Looks good viewed 'Large'.
