Cairngorms

Today we set off on our walking club winter break, this year to Newtonmore in the Cairngorm National Park. We stopped enroute at Blair Atholl where we had a snack at the Atholl Arms, then on to Newtonmore. We walked the Wild Cat Trail before checking in at our hotel. The Wild Cat Trail is a waymarked route above Newtonmore and is a very scenic walk. My blip is taken at one of the large waterfalls, which was fiercely tumbling down the hill.

After our walk we checked in to the hotel, and after unpacking, showering, and a bit of a rest, we congregated in the bar before dinner. Dinner was really good, and then we had a night of entertainment and dancing.

There are forty five of us on the break, we all know each other very well, having walked together for a good few years now, so the three day break promises to be super.

Our weather was great, quite cold, but dry with a bit of sunshine.
