The Reason I Love The Alpine Restaurant

At Asfordby, just outside Melton Mowbray. For one thing, they have an excellent garden centre, small but perfectly formed. And secondly, they have this marvellous restaurant with a perpetually blazing fire surrounded by armchairs and serve basic meals at tables crafted in Alpine style. AND they allow dogs in. Basil was able to sit under the table and watch the goings on while I ate my very rich tartiflette.

I found snowdrops, crocuses, and narcissi in planting pots and also the most gorgeous minature purple irises, now planted in my pots outside the front.
