Pispala Haulitorni by night

Today we had A's parents over for dinner to celebrate A's father's 87th birthday. Quite an achievement- he was only 15 when he was assigned to watch over some Russian prisoners of war, he was trained as a fighter pilot, and worked as the principal of a secondary school as his main career.

It is always so nice to hear stories from the good old days by these grey panthers. We also watched the grand opening of the Sotchi Olympic Games on Tv, quite a spectacle.

We took the old couple back to theur house and went for a walk in Pispala on our way back. The red tower in the pic was used for making small bullets or shots for rifles. The method included dropping molten lead from the cabin on top the tower and thus forming those shots.
