Here's Pearl looking through the window at one of her neighborhood friends.

I'm fairly certain that her little friend doesn't want Pearl to come outside to play. Oh, but Pearl would so LOVE to come and have some fun together this morning!


Post-camera: cropped, sharpened, punched up the contrast a bit, de-saturated areas of the background so that some bright colors wouldn't draw the eye away from the subjects. Left the pumpkin in for composition's sake (nice to have three foci playing off one another) and to lend some context and atmosphere. And once the distracting background colors had been de-saturated, the composition needed a splash of color for some added energy. Nice how the pumpkin stem, the squirrel's tail and legs, and all the ears are cocked at about the same angle. Can't take credit for that. Happy accident. We frequently depend upon the forces of the Cosmos to conspire with us to make a photograph.
