Tamimi Stables Family Fun Day

We had the best day today. Three excited little people couldn't wait to get to the magical stables we had been promising to take them to. We can definitely say that it lived up to their hopes.

They got 'Super Hero Passports' at the gates and had to collect stamps around the farm for participating in different activities. We began at the 'Animal Care' section where Bailee held a Dwarf Hamster and a chicken. Oscar didn't want to hold the chicken but he had a quick pat and was fascinated as predicted. He wanted to know if they had skeletons.... Unfortunately for the Hamster, Oscar got a fright when it wriggled and he dropped it into the hay :-( Luckily it wasn't too high.

Meanwhile Maple wandered around the pen, tossing hay into the air and trying to open their cages. She just loved seeing all the little animals.

After that we saw a Red Deer, cows and donkeys. We walked past the ducks to the turtle enclosure and got in with them. At first Bailee tried to jump out as she thought the turtle was chasing her. Oscar stayed safe around the edge and Maple tried to ride the turtle. In the end we were all patting them and watching them eat celery. Oscar and Bailee loved the texture of their shells.

Next we headed to the planting area and Stu lined up for lunch (Another story on it's own....) I had a whale of a time with the trio (They enjoyed it too), painting pots and choosing and potting a plant into it. I felt sorry for the assistants as every paint pallet that they brought to the twins ended up a greenish mess. The pots themselves were decorated 'camouflage style'.

Meanwhile Maple stacked terracotta pots. By some miracle, she didn't break any.

I took over in the food queue and Stu did arts and crafts in the art room with the kids. Oscar seemed quite proud of his stamping and stencilling.

After lunch we went to ride the horses. They were proper, big horses. As predicted, Bailee jumped on without a second thought and beamed her way around the track. Oscar hid in the buggy... he said he didn't want to ride the horse (It was big). Just as Bailee got her helmet on, he announced he wanted to ride a horse and the rest was history. He loved it. So proud of him.

We walked to the stables and saw some stunning horses and a foal. Bailee, Maple and Oscar all patted their noses and loved seeing them. At the end, one of the staff gave them a talk about caring for horses and Oscar asked so many questions. She then asked them both some questions about what they were learning and they remembered.

Our last stop was the slide and bouncy castle area. Bailee was adamant she wanted her face painted like a pink rabbit, and waited patiently in the queue for a very long time. When it came to her turn she had a very particular idea about what she wanted. She bossed the face painter around telling her she wanted a red heart on her nose, and so on and so on. Oscar meanwhile had a blast on the bouncy castle then couldn't resist climbing up the VERY HIGH speed slide. Of course, there was no way he wanted to slide down once he got to the top. Stu had to climb to the rescue and they came down together. Oscar was not happy about coming down the slide.

We watched a falcon show and decided it was getting late and submitted their passports for their certificates. It took 90 minutes to get home as the traffic from Sharjah was awful, but still worth it.

Bailee and Oscar have already asked several times to go back, we really did have a great day!
