Bee on Koromiko flowers.

The bees were all over the Koromiko flowers today, not an usual sight. The Koromiko is a native shrub of New Zealand, and has also been breed (if that's the right word) by growers to give different colours. It is a very hardy shrub and grows well in quite poor soil too.
We went over to the mussel farm late in the afternoon, as PJ was meeting with another boat, with a group of tourist on board, who wanted to see & hear about mussel farming. He tied our little barge alongside the line & M brought his boat alongside that, so everyone could see.
I took our boat away, as I was going to land at the nearby wharf & take the dogs for a walk. But decided to just kept out of the way instead. When M had gone, I went back over to the barge, and there were some seagulls flying around. The next thing we knew, Poppy had jumped off the boat & was swimming around trying to catch one.
Finally managed to call her back to the boat and haul her on board.
