Lichen-covered boulders

It was misty this morning; those easterly clouds were rolling in after sunrise, and catching the tops of the hills. This shot is from the top of the Britten Reserve, looking towards Castle Rock. Castle Rock lost it's profile after the 2011 earthquakes, and some of the boulders up here were blasted apart by humans just in case they somehow tumbled down the hill onto something humans might regard as more important than these lovely boulders.... vandalism?

Anyway, it is still possible, though more difficult than in the past, to frame a shot without including unattractive shards of recently broken rock.
