Great Spotted Woodpecker (male)

This male Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major) was present with its partner in the woods beside Kinghorn Loch. She was keeping high up in the tree so I didn't manage a photo of her. After a while, he moved up to join her.

The water rail showed up again bit I still didn't manage a decent capture. Oh well, there's always next time.

Other excitement was the rapid fly-through of a sparrowhawk. It didn't catch anything and was gone before by camera was ready.
