Dawlish

We went to Shaldon today, mainly to see the chalet and the damage the storm had done. It didn't look too bad, but talking to the builder apparently part of the roof had come off. Luckily they managed to shore it up before the rain came in. Repairs are now under way, all thanks to the site and builder who liaised with the insurance company.

Later, after a walk in Shaldon, we went to Dawlish where we are staying with Colin. We took a walk around to see if we could see the storm damage to the rail line and cliff top houses, but most of it is taped off by the builders, who are there in force running repairs not only along the line but to the station as well.

Darkness was just falling as we arrived back at Colin's; I quite liked this picture I took of the brook that runs through the centre of the town and has been known to flood although better now dredging has taken place.
