Cards and Roses

On Valentines Day there are students who roam as cupid's couriers invading classrooms to deliver the universally recognised symbol of love on behalf of some secret admirer. It generates much excitement. Sometimes, rather than love, these messengers are bringing a token of affectionate thanks - such as the rose that I was presented with this morning. Sent by a student who wanted to say thank you for some solace and comfort I once gave her at a time of distress. Bless.

This evening 4 friends came and we played cards. Three artists, one librarian and a mathematician. Such fun. Lots of laughter. At the end of an exhausting week I am off to bed now, enjoying the sheer bliss of knowing I do not need to set the alarm!
