De-Icing!

Spent a long time at the airport today. This is a Jet Blue plane that has been de-iced and then covered with green goo. presumably some sort of anti-freeze before heading off to Boston. We were a little late boarding as the incoming flight from Fort Lauderdale was late arriving. We pushed back about 30 minutes late and started to de-ice with the air conditioning on and the de-icing chemicals filled the cabin with fumes and what looked like a dry-ice fog. The captain announced that there was a mechanical issue and he had asked an engineer to come aboard and investigate. After about an hour and free water all round, he spoke again, to say the issue had been fixed, that we would be leaving in about 30 minutes ....... after we had de-iced again! This time it worked! We are now in Fort Lauderdale where it is sunny and warm!
