The Renold Building, Manchester...

I never thought it would happen, but I'm coming around to the charms of 1960s architecture. I know that some horrors were put up at that time (usually cheap housing) but let's remember that the same people who built the wonderful commercial and civic buildings of Manchester also built row upon row of insanitary slums. If 1960s buildings are looked after they can look good. This is the Renold Building that was built as an extension of the UMIST campus and is now part of Manchester University. It's basically a simple white box with one wall given to these angled windows and a gentle curve of the roofline. It's been well looked after. It looks good. I like it...
