Victoria Station....

On the other side of the city centre from Piccadilly Station, Victoria Station is taking another step towards being finished. All the struts for the roof are now in position and it's being glazed. They are now working on the interior of the station. All this work has to be done while the station remains open to the public for transport use. It's been quite a feat doing this. The only restriction we have had is that the trams haven't been able to stop at Victoria and that's going to be rectified in the next few days. Outside the station the new tram route through the city centre is beginning to make its way towards Exchange Square.

Once Victoria is finished the work will switch to Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Deansgate Stations and all the connecting railway lines to complete the Northern Hub scheme that will turn Manchester into a northern equivalent of the London transport hub. It's going to be great for the city but will be fun and games while they are doing it. Add to that the new tram line across the city centre and all the buildings going up here, there and everywhere, we are living on a giant building site..
