Life's Little Moments

Another thrilling day at the AOG!

Lots of competitors today ... in fact, I'd be hard pressed to pick just one favorite performance. However, I had to award blip-honors to the Common Grackle, a bird that many people dislike because they are perceived to be unsportsmanlike in their behavior. And I get that...but it's hard to argue a flawless dismount, like this one or the nearly perfectly coordinated relay race. Yes, people, they are worthy competitors!

I am afraid that the same cannot be said of Team Mourning Dove, who totally botched their routine. Oh dear. On a positive note, Marilyn the Mocker decided to show up for cracked corn buffet today - and things were going well until she was dive-bombed by a member of Team Junco. The Captain of Team Junco tried to excuse the poor behavior by saying that one of their team was missing a leg...this myth was soundly debunked. At which point the juncos retreated to their tree until a dancing finch showed up. People, it was chaos!

Thank goodness Team American Tree Sparrow gave an amazing Air Ballet performance! Followed by their solo performance of the Swan Dive. It was breathtaking. But what really brought the house down was Wings Over the World, performed by His Royal Redness. Oh my!

So, the sun is setting over Andover Olympic Stadium as the athletes practice some serious carb-loading in anticipation of tomorrow's games. I do hope you are following the AOG updates from our correspondents around the globe - Team Canine has put in an excellent showing today, along with a rare performance by the normally reclusive Wally Wallaby, and a host of other fascinating athletes. Hop on over and have a look!

And that concludes today's updates from my corner of the AOG. Thanks for tuning in!
