Rotunda Church Xewkija Gozo

Visited this church on our route today, really beautiful old style but completed building only in 1971

Rather an amazing story explained to us by the Priest who was enthusiastically showing people around. There was an older much smaller church on the same spot, which was too small for the community. So they built the new church around the old church, they then took down the old church stone by stone and rebuilt it right next door as a chapel to the new church.
