Moody morning light over Carlsheaven

What made this morning so very special? Not the dream or the early tea. Nor was it the Oaktree exercise or my running and walking down to the laughing Friedensthal Brook. It had started to drizzle but I did not care. As I stood in deep silence beside the very small waterfall, a kind of praying hummed through my soul. A feeling of gratitude arose and brought me back home along the uphill forest footpath.

There Willemien was cutting down our dear Wild Budleia. She did that reluctantly on my request. The heating mechanic would arrive and drive his van over the unfortunate plant. How will that wild terrace conquerer grow out again to seduce the butterflies to land and suck its juicy honey long enough for a blippable shutterspeed…?

Meanwhile behind the rain clouds the sun was rising and peeped through openings now and then. I hope that one of the pictures I made then, will show the mood and frailty of the break through moment.

The real surprise though came a little later. Through the window Willemien saw it first:

Shht...come&look: A Red Squirrel there in our Gardian Oaktree! OhHoly...and then the Squirrel ran and jumped from branch to branch, tree to tree, up into the backyard forest and vanished behind the Hut...Jee..

We had heard about the squirrels from our neighbours. We seldom saw one. Willemien had blipped one by surprise near the house. But last year we thought that “our Squirrel” had chosen safer ways, trees and grounds. Mischa will be very happy to hear that the Little Red Squirrel visits our Oaktree again and we know now why Willemien found beech nuts on the wooden bench which she definitely had not put there.

Now we share Mischa’s Happiness supporting her Oaktree Factory Productions. So we lost our Budleya-branches and this new day brought us a special gift: Onetwothree: Red Squirrel dancing from Tree to Tree...
