"A Nice Day To Go Fishing"...

...Yes, it was a nice day to go fishing - (can you see the little boat there?) ...down at the Sandbar today, it was rather quiet, and I'm sure the man in his little tinny there will possibly bring in a fish or two..for dinner -I was pleased to see him put on his life jacket..as he was going out there alone...

...Well, at least today he would possibly get a fish or two - but I'm sure he wouldn't have done so the other day when approximately 500 school children and their teachers were down there learning to swim safely in the river, the dangers of swimming in the river, and just pure common sense really..children and adults alike should know..

...Sadly there was a drowning there not so long ago, not far from here where a young Afganistan man had just entered the water - and got into difficulties, the rivers have all got their dangers, due to deep holes which sometimes people can step into.

...The water is so cold right down deep in those holes we cannot see, and suddenly, the cold creates panic and possible cramping... The young man had not long arrived here in Australia from Afganistan..he could not read the danger signs we have been told..

...So often that happens, with visitors to our country, or to most countries really, whether it be in dangerous places along the coastlines, cliff edges, where there are signage and warnings displayed - or whether it be near the rivers where there are signs showing the dangers..and it's good to see the children of some 50 different nationalities being taught these things - right here..

...But yes, it really was a nice day out there on the river today..
