First of all, thanks for your comments and stars for the NZ Koru wine stopper, you were all totally right :-)

A couple of days ago Lisa Blipped a picture of home baked salted coconut macaroons and I just couldn't stop thinking about them, so today in between the short track races at the Olympics I got baking :-) I followed Nigella Lawson's recipe from the How to be a Domestic Goddess book , but had no cream of tartar, made smaller heaps and topped them with a bit of sea salt. They're ok-ish, probably due to still getting used to this oven a bit dry, I would prefer them just a little more moist.

But they are dead-easy to make and even within half an hour !
