CannyScot's Day

New entrance to our Church

About three years ago, St. Mary's Community Church, Dundee (formerly St. Kilda Road Baptist Church) found themselves in the position of meeting in an old building in need of much repair and which no longer served the needs of the Community. The congregation of about 20 people committed themselves to pray, work and give, so that the building could be completely renovated.

This was to cost over £300,000 and was a real step in faith. Many people and organisations helped by giving loans, grants and gifts and two years later the new building was completed. Additional rooms were built and this beautiful entrance door and hallway has not only made the church very accessible but we feel it makes the church look welcoming. We now have several community groups using the building as well as the events we organise ourselves. All in all, prayer, faith, giving and hard work have paid off and we now have a beautiful building, fit for the 21st Century.

I was also busy early this morning, preaching to the congregation in Bugiri, Uganda. If you would like to see some screenshots from my Skype event see my Flikr set.
