Aviation

This statue is situated near the Causewayhead roundabout, Stirling, in the shadow of the Wallace Monument. It commemorates Frank and Harold Bramwell pioneers of Scottish aviation.

They founded the Grampian Engineering works, where they designed, built aircraft and tested them in the nearby fields.

With Harold at the controls, prototype no. 3 made Scotland's first powered flight on 28th July 1909.
