Gates

9.1C with rain at first then brightening. Sunny afternoon. Windy.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. As we walked along the country road past the church I could see a tractor ploughing in the fields in the distance. Then, when we turned into the field with the bridle path, I could see that the farmer had been ploughing the ground between the bridle path and where he had stopped ploughing a while back. The newly turned ground is looking dry and ready for planting.

Maeve and I plodded down the grass strip next to the hedge. At the moment it isn't much of a path. The grass is very clumpy and rough. Hopefully lots of feet, some paws, and some hooves will make it an easier walk. We have been spoiled by being able to walk in the open field.

We carried on along the cycle path to the level crossing. I took this shot from the seaward side of the level crossing looking back over the level crossing gate, the field gate and up to the church.

We walked down to the beach and along to the fishermen's huts. We passed one dog walker on the way. The tide was further in today. Sky and sea both blue.
