LONG DRIVE

We were on the road all day today with a lot of the time spent on the winding highways in the Appalachian Mountains. This shot is at the foothills of the Appalachians, taken through the windshield as we whizzed along at 75 mph. There were a few interesting scenes, but it wasn’t safe to stop. By this time in the year, the vegetation is usually full of yellow, green or red buds, but it’s been such an unusually harsh winter that the deciduous trees haven’t started to bud yet - this scene is green only because these are evergreens. Unfortunately, we hit the 5:00 traffic in Atlanta – it took more than twice as long to get around the city on the inter-state by-pass. It’s amazing that all those people face that stressful traffic every day after work!
