In through the out door

The trouble with most camera phones is that you don't have much of an idea what they are doing. With a camera you at least have some notion of the settings even if you may not have any control over them.
The one thing I am sure of with my phone is that it has a set constant aperture and the shutter speed and ISO setting changes accordingly to give a correct exposure.
The one saving grace, I would at least expect from my phone is that when I set it on a 'Sports' setting, I should at the minimum, expect an exposure faster than 1/33 sec.
Then again, as most phone manufactures keep the cameras specification very close to their chests, I have no real idea of what one is capable of!
