Battle of the Flowers

This afternoon we went to see the "Battle of the Flowers" parade.

Every float is made from flowers with glamorous ladies adorning them. The ladies throw mimosa at the crowds. The crowds respond by doing all they can to catch the mimosa which can result in some skirmishes.

On the second rotation of the parade, the ladies then start to dismantle the displays and throw the flowers from the floats at the crowds.

If you are in the right spot you can take home a lovely bouquet of flowers but the competition for catching the flowers is fierce.

As you can see the floats are spectacular and a lot of work (and flowers) go into them.
